Every artist has chapters. You can hear them if you listen closely. Some musicians spend their entire careers trying to write the same hit over and over again. I never wanted that. Every record I’ve made reflects who I was at that moment in my life. Different places. Different struggles. Different questions. Different sounds. Looking back over more than thirty years of writing music, I can clearly hear three distinct eras of Johnny Punish.
If you’re new to my music, these are the three songs I’d recommend to understand the journey.
Era One (1995–2001): Punk Rock Punish

This was the beginning; my Twisted Nixon years. Mosh Pits, Great Friends, Loud guitars. Fast tempos. No apologies.
I wasn’t interested in fitting into the music business. I wanted songs that challenged authority, questioned convention, and captured the restless energy of youth. These recordings were fueled by equal parts frustration and optimism—the belief that music could still shake people awake.
“Stone Throwing Riot” captures that spirit better than any other song from those years. It’s raw, rebellious, and unapologetically punk. Playing it live was the best. I would jump into the crowd during the bridge, the band would just play the bridge endlessly while mosh pitted with our fans. It was always incredible….a few bumps, bruises and shanks but it was always all good. The fans would always protect me and launch me back on stage when I was ready to finish off the song with a vicious take down of the Israeli Zionists and their psychopathic regime.
