MUSIC ART THOUGHTS!

I woke up this morning and an art music fan named Angela sent me a note on SoundCloud saying

“Hello 🙂 Your music has captured my heart. It is totally magical! Keep creating”

Super inspiring!

I am pretty sure that the lyrics I write are mostly good, sometimes better than good. It just needed some musical talent behind it all. And while A.I. is NOT perfect, it is far superior to me recording every instrument, mixing and producing everything from soup to nuts. I mean, not everyone can be a TOM SCHOLZ from M.I.T. (The band “Boston”). Only a few are that great.

Yes, I have been doing it all and I love doing it too!  But it’s not easy at all and I am NOT great at everything which can lead to a great song getting lost in the mediocrity of production weaknesses.  And I don’t want that at all.  I want my songs to be the best they can be, always.

Songwriter, musician, and engineer Tom Scholz in his studio.  He created the 1970s band Boston from his garage studio in Boston and the rest is history!

So I think my new use of A.I. has a positive role for me as a songwriter which is my main art. I get to work with “A.I. artists” who are far superior to my very limited self without the major costs of a huge commercial venture that has way more real monetary risk and downsides than up.

The only thing better would be to be in a real band with great talented players each playing their expert talented role but living in a rural part of Mexico, that’s not going to happen. Besides, the real money costs to do such a big team venture far outweigh the benefits; unless one is a celebrity commercial artist and can afford the huge upfront investments. So this is the next best thing.

In this light, over the last 30 days, I started a new music initiative to publish our ASCAP cataloged songs by writers Brian Jay Cline and myself, Johnny Punish, using AI-enhanced music.   So far, I have posted them as lyric videos on Facebook and our new YouTube channels.

CHESS AND CHECKERS | Agent Punish (Lyric Video) (youtube.com)

Next month, the songs hit all the audio digital streaming services too.  But for now, I am just taking a quick early look at the results and here they are;

SUMMARY MUSIC REPORT (# of views for videos)
# 1 Total Views = Engine Light | Beer & Skittles (207 views)
# 1 Facebook = The Pillar Of Fire | Agent Punish (151 views)
# 1 YouTube = Engine Light | Beer & Skittles (184 views)

PATTERNS?
Some songs are popular on Facebook but have almost no views on YouTube and Vice-A-Versa. But it is early.  So for now, there is NO consistent pattern emerging yet. In about 1 month, we should see patterns emerge.  And that will give me insight and a better handle on which videos are getting more views and why.  And then I can go from there…

Stay Tuned…
